The Potluck Dilemma

lunch table

It’s Potluck at work and you are totally out of ideas on what to bring. You are rushing to the bakery and buying an expensive stale cake and hoping it’s good. Well, here are a few ideas that will help you save money and help you shine at the next potluck and at Thanksgiving.

Hershey Bar Pie

1 Pack of Hershey Bars with Almonds (6 to 8)

1 Tub of Cool Whip

1 Graham Cracker Crust

In a microwaveable bowl melt the Hershey bars until glossy and then mix in with cool whip and smooth the mixture into the pie crust and put into the fridge until firm. I promise you will you be asked to make this dessert over and over again.

Easy Fruit Cobbler

2 Sticks of butter

1 Vanilla cake mix

1 Large can of fruit or small bag of frozen fruit

1 Baking dish

Cube 1 stick of butter and layer all over the bottom of the baking dish. Next pour in your fruit over the butter. Next, pour the cake mix over the fruit and slight stir the fruit and cake mix. So that the fruit doesn’t all stick to the bottom. Finally, cube 2nd stick of butter and layer all over the top of of of dish and bake for around an hour to an hour and 10 minutes on 350 degrees.

It’s not grandmas homemade, but its still good, easy, and fast to make. If you need a sugar-free dessert you can substitute with a sugar-free cake mix and a sugar-free can of peaches. I like to experiment and in the Fall with a spice cake mix and apples and toss in pecans. Also a chocolate cake mix with cherries is delicious.
