Many days I want a SuperGrande Espresso #22 from CCs Coffeehouse. But, at $7, it gets pretty expensive. During hot Louisiana summer months, I often find myself driving through two times a day. If you add up $14 a day for a month, you get close to $500. Now, I’ve never been a budget-conscious person, well, that wasn’t until I got married, and then that all changed. Lol.
I started searching for a recipe to cure my craving for my Espresso #22. After scouring Pinterest, I found my favorite recipe. I modified it to my taste. I like strong coffee, but the original recipe wasn’t quite strong enough for me.
So, here is my recipe. Feel free to modify it to your taste.
1-quart jar – 1 cup coffee grounds of your choice and 1 1/2 cup of cold water mix well and put in the fridge to marinate. The longer it sits, the stronger it gets.
Once you’ve let your brew marinated, strain the grounds out of your liquid. I usually do this between two-quart jars. After straining the coffee grounds, I pour some of the liquid into a glass, sweetened it, fill it with ice, and then fill it up with half and half. Plop a cute straw in it and start my addiction for the day. I usually have two or three batches brewing between my office and home. I never want to run out.
If I crave a different flavor, we usually have a kcup of flavored coffee around. I will use one of those to help to add flavor. I prefer to use a drip coffee or pour over than kcup, but I drink whatever is handy every day
